Synopsis:
The Girl On the Bread Tree is an adaption of Hong Kong writer Amy Siu-haan Cheung's novel of the same title. It tells the gut-wrenching love story between the female leading role Cheng Yun and the genius lyricist Lin Fangwen. It depicts the Cheng Yun' s experience of first love, friendship and love in college and presents how a girl grows to be a woman in ten years ‘time.
The drama was performed in Shanghai People’s Grand Theater from October 19 to November 4, 2012 and then in Beijing Poly Theatre from January 10 to January 13, 2013. It was so well-received by the audiences that it was performed again on May 19, 2015.
